Gloster Canaries are named after Canary Island, where they were first spotted. Due to their beautiful singing abilities, they have become popular pets.

Moreover, there are two types of Gloster canaries: coronas and consorts. The prior corona glosters have a flat, bowl-cut appearance on the top of their heads. Whereas, the latter have a unique and eye-catching crest.

The color combination of the birds is a combination of: yellow, brown, white, cinnamon, grey, frost and green. The reason for this is due to variations in their breeding processes.

Additionally, they are rather small and are preferred to be bred for their size over their color or songs. They are popular pets as they require small spaces and aren’t loud in comparison to other birds.

Their short, stubby bodies can weigh from half an ounce to one ounce. Their singing abilities are what sets them apart.

For birds, the Gloster canaries live long. Thus, they make excellent pets. Furthermore, they are sociable species and will ask for their owners’ attention.

However, if the bird does not get the required attention, they are unlikely to thrive.

Despite their size they are rather active and require roomy cages.

Their small beaks make them convenient pets for small children. They make great pets for those who can interact with them on a daily basis.
