Recent high school graduate Dylan Bliss decided to recreate a photo with his cute dog, Ruger. Dylan posed with his pup when he started his first day at school. He and Ruger came full circle when Bliss decided to recreate the photo after his high school graduation.
The Bliss family adopted Ruger after he was born on June 12, 2009. Dylan’s mother, Corie Bliss, told The Koala, “We have owned him [Ruger] since he was weaned from his mom. Ruger has been every part of our lives since then.”
Furthermore, the doggo has completely become a part of the Bliss family. He even accompanies them on their family vacations. Bliss continued, “We live on a small family farm, he loves all the animals. He has complete freedom to include jumping in/ out of our pool. We incorporate our family vacations to be dog friendly as well, camping, hiking etc.”
Dylan Bliss took a photo with Ruger, by posing with a backpack on his first day school. Now, years later after graduating from the Alvirne High School in Hudson, Bliss recreated the photo. Dylan wore a graduation gown in the photo and smiled with his 11-year-old dog.
His mother also said, “1st photo was Dylan’s first day of school that I recently located reminiscing through photos and wanted to recreate for Dylan’s graduation, it ended up coming out perfect! Dylan loves the recreation, he loves his dog and can’t imagine life without him. Ruger is very friendly, loves everyone and is super loyal to his family. He knows he’s one of our kids.”
Unfortunately, Ruger has been diagnosed with cancer. The Bliss family is working hard along with the vet to keep the poor dog comfortable. About the diagnosis, Corie also said, “Ruger was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, after visits with regular vet and vet oncologist we had it removed, unfortunately not long after surgery it spread like wildfire and he has mast cell tumors everywhere. He was given a poor prognosis of approximately 3-6 months about 3 months ago.”
Further adding, “We are doing everything in our power to keep him comfortable and enjoying our summer with him.”
